Position Description

  • The Child Care Director plays a pivotal role in advancing the mission of The Woodstown Pilesgrove SACC program by orchestrating and overseeing our state-licensed Before & After School Child Care programs. This influential position involves strategic planning, program management, staff development, and the nurturing of a supportive and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Program Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of our Child Care and summer programs, ensuring they meet or surpass budgetary expectations while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Inclusive Program Coordination: Coordinate with Site Supervisor to deliver diverse activities for our Child Care programs, emphasizing inclusivity and creating an enriching experience for all participants.
  • Activity Development: Create and maintain a comprehensive schedule of recreational and educational activities that align with the developmental needs of children in our care.
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise Site Supervisor and staff, fostering a positive and supportive team environment.
  • Safety and Communication: Ensure the safety and supervision of all participants, adeptly handling conflicts and maintaining open, effective communication with parents and stakeholders.
  • Administration/Financial Management: Maintain payment and staff records. Manage expenses according to the SACC budget working with the Board of Directors.Attend Monthly SACC Board Meetings

Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in child care.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated leadership qualities, exceptional organizational abilities, and a strong focus on delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Certifications: CPR/AED/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain, along with mandatory state background checks and clearances.
  • Innovation and Creativity: Must possess creativity, innovation, and a genuine passion for working with children.
  • Driver’s License: Possession of a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Technical Proficiency: Operational knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
