NJSACC Seeks Part Time Technical Assistance Specialist

As NJ's Statewide Afterschool Network, NJSACC works to build lasting public support for quality afterschool programs across New Jersey. Led by a public-private partnership, the network builds public awareness and support; offers guidance for providers, families, and advocates; strengthens relationships with policymakers, funders, practitioners and shares best practices in the field.

The Technical Assistance Specialist will play a key role in the development and delivery of technical assistance, professional development, networking, and evaluation support of school-age out-of-school time (OST) programs, as well as supporting similar efforts by NJ’s Child Care Resource and Referral Providers (CCR&Rs).

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  • Participate in providing a strong network for school-age program professionals in NJ.
  • Provide technical assistance including assessment and quality enhancement planning for the development, expansion and improvement of school-age programs throughout NJ, utilizing proven resources.
  • Provide in person and virtual site visits as appropriate.
  • Provide leadership and support to NJSACC’s STEM initiative.
  • Participate in facilitating and managing work groups and peer groups including scheduling, email invitation and  follow-up, zoom virtual meeting set up, agenda setting and resource gathering, acting as host and facilitator of meetings, etc. Peer groups include:
    • CCR&R Workgroup for staff supporting school-age care
    • Targeted Technical Assistance Initiative peer group
    • STEM Team peer group
    • Additional work/peer groups as assigned.
  • Provide resource support for Afterschool Conversations (NJSACC’s monthly networking call).
  •  Participate in providing a comprehensive inclusion network for all licensed childcare and family child care providers.
  • Participate in and provide training at conferences, workshops and through information services (Afterschool Conversations, introductions and visits conducted with programs, CCR&Rs, Technical Assistance Centers, etc.) as assigned.
  • Complete all documentation and reports in a professional and timely manner.
  • Respond to emails, voicemails and all other communication daily on weekdays as necessary.
  •  Other duties as necessary and/or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
  • Fluent and professional in the English language with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university and/or equivalent, relevant experience.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience working with children in OST or similar programs.
  • At least 3 years of staff supervisory experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in providing technical assistance to OST (or related) programs, including experience in providing verbal and written feedback.
  • Knowledge of school-age afterschool and OST program best practices, assessment tools and resources.
  • Ability, facility, and basic tools to work virtually and professionally 50-100% of hours from home office.
  • Ability to work a 4 or 5 day 21 hour workweek scheduled Monday-Friday between the hours of 8am-6pm (choice of days/hours within that time frame) including availability for virtual work one-two weeknights/month until 9pm.
  • Availability for site visits during typical after school hours at least 20 days per school year.
  • Competent, proficient and comfortable in the use of technology including high competency level with at least google suite, power point, zoom, email, and all cell phone functions including voice and text contact.
  • Ability to complete all documentation and reports in a professional manner.
  • Ability to create and deliver in person &/or virtual training including accompanying slide shows and handouts.
  • Efficiently manage multiple tasks with accuracy and respond to changing priorities as necessary.
  • Able to attend in person meetings and/or other full day events in the Westfield office at least 2 times/month.
  • Ability/willingness to travel throughout the state as necessary to provide services.
  • Holds a current New Jersey Driver’s License, automobile insurance, and access to reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time and projects effectively and efficiently.
  • May need to provide a writing or presentation sample during the interview.
  • Able to agree to and follow all of the applicable staff guidelines as detailed in the NJSACC Employee Handbook.
GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION:
  • NJSACC is a statewide agency, serving all of NJ. However, our office is located in Westfield, NJ. This part-time technical assistance specialist may work either virtually from a home office, in-person at our Westfield office location, or on a hybrid schedule (remote and in-person).
SALARY RANGE:
  • Part-Time; 21 hours per week;
  • $30,000 - $32,760 depending on experience
  • Generous compensation package includes paid time off, holidays, and other benefits for a 4-5 day, 21 hours/week schedule

NJSACC SEEKS PART-TIME ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

NJSACC is looking to hire an Administrative Assistant that will provide support to NJSACC staff in managing day-to-day operations through event support, database management, communication, and general virtual office support.

TITLE OF POSITION AND DESCRIPTION:
  • Administrative Assistant: will provide support to the NJSACC staff in managing day-to-day operations through event support, database management, communication, and general office support.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  • Creates and maintains various forms, templates, and information databases connected to NJSACC services including registrations, forms, surveys, and other documentation and/or communication as necessary to support staff.
  • Provides tech support to staff during virtual meetings (zoom set up; tracking attendance; running slides; working with the chat and closed captioning features; creating breakout groups, white boards, polls; helping participants troubleshoot technical problems during meetings; note taking; etc.).
  • Works with senior staff in creating, maintaining, and administering both virtual and in person evaluation and data tracking systems including distribution, recording results, dissemination, communication, etc.
  • Assists senior staff in gathering detailed information for grants and other applications and reports.
  • Attends and provides support at NJSACC conferences, workshops, and information services.
  • Completes all documentation and reports in a professional and timely manner.
  • Responds to emails, voicemails, and all other communication daily on weekdays as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associates degree in a relevant field from an accredited university and/or equivalent, relevant experience.
  • Minimum two years related experience; nonprofit experience a plus.
  • High level of organization, accuracy, and attention to detail in remote office organization and processes.
  • Ability to work a 4 or 5 day 21 hour workweek scheduled Monday-Friday between the hours of 8am-6pm (choice of days/hours within that time frame) including availability for virtual work one-two weeknights/month until 9pm.
  • Ability to work entirely from our Westfield office location, or, has the basic facility to work virtually and professionally from a remote location with the ability to work at the Westfield office at least twice/month.
  • High level of competence and proficiency in the use of technology including competence with at least Microsoft Office, Google suite, spreadsheets, databases, word processing, PowerPoint presentations, zoom, email and cell phone functions.
  • Experience in collecting, organizing, recording, and processing data and maintaining data management systems.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time and projects effectively and efficiently.
