YMCA of the Pines School’s Out Program is based on a program developed by the YMCA, the nation’s largest provider of child care. YMCA of the Pines School’s Out Program provides a safe and fun environment led by active, adult role models who promote positive youth development. Serving children and youth from kindergarten through sixth grade in the child’s own school, the programs provide families with quality, consistent care before and after school hours.
Site Supervisor Positions: The School’s Out Supervisor position is responsible for the planning, implementing and leading of programs and experiences for children in small group settings. This position also is responsible for the general safety, development, growth and skill achievement of the children in his/her group. The site supervisor is also responsible for the timely completion of all related paperwork and the supervision of site counselors, including delegation of responsibilities and ensuring that all licensing guidelines are followed by all staff. School’s Out Site Supervisors are generally expected to work from 6:50 AM – 8:10 or 8:45 AM and 2:30 or 3:00 – approx.. 6:00 PM, from September 6– June 17-23. Positions are available 5 days a week and preference is given to candidates who are available for all shifts. Attendance is required at twenty + hours of paid training, including 12+ in late August and 4 evening staff meetings during the year. Site supervisors are employed by the program as a whole and are not guaranteed a position at a specific school.

The School’s Out Counselor is also responsible for the general safety, development, growth and skill achievement of the children in his/her group. Counselor positions are both before and after school, from September 6 – June 17-23. Positions are available 5 days a week and preference is given to candidates who can work multiple shifts in a week. Attendance is required at twelve + hours of paid training in late August and 4 evening staff meetings during the year. Counselors are employed by the program as a whole and are not guaranteed a position at a specific school.
