Summer brings sunshine, outdoor learning—and ticks.

Lyme disease is now the fastest-growing vector-borne illness in the U.S., and youth programs are in a unique position to lead on prevention.

Alliance for Camp Health, in partnership with SC Johnson, are supporting day camps, overnight camps, and summer learning programs through the Fight the Bite initiative.

This FREE program provides self-paced staff training on tick safety and response, educational resources grounded in science, and communication tools to help families feel confident about summer safety.

When you join, you’ll get access to an online course—Becoming a Fight the Bite Camp—along with printable tick check posters, a parent handout, a visual tick removal guide, an implementation plan for directors, and sample messaging to share with your community. Every resource is built to be practical, adaptable, and easy to use across all types of youth-serving environments.

Whether your program runs outdoors all day or splits time between classroom and field, Fight the Bite equips you to spot, stop, and prevent tick-borne illness this season.

Let’s make this a safe and tick-aware summer.
