Most of us are in the childcare field because we enjoy working with children, but, as school age program supervisors, trainers, coaches, and/or resource specialists, one of the key elements of our job is to empower our adult staff and providers through high quality training. Join us for this valuable virtual workshop where we'll explore tips for gathering information about the adult learner’s strengths, interests and needs; tricks for navigating challenging conversations and interactions; and tools to strengthen our presentation and coaching skills. Participants will have the opportunity to reflect on their own experiences with engaging group activities and will leave with new resources for their training and coaching toolboxes. NJSACC training led by KIT's (Kids Included Together) Phillip Collazo.

Families with children experiencing disabilities and/or behavior issues often have unique needs compared to other families. This training introduces some of those needs and offers a parents' perspective that can help generate greater staff empathy and aid in working towards providing a quality experience for all children. During this session, we will focus on what may be happening with the family and how we can support them in our school age care programs. This grant funded workshop is appropriate for all staff and Family Child Care (FCC) providers that work directly with kids and is offered via zoom in the evening to make it easily accessible to all who work in school age child care.
