RFI Brainstorming Session 2 – Join us this Wed Jan 20 at 10am

Share your input regarding what’s going on in school-age child care and summer camp with the state agencies that can make a difference in getting the support and funding needed to continue providing quality care for our communities’ youth and families:

The New Jersey Economic Development Authority (“NJEDA” or “Authority”), an independent Authority of the State of New Jersey, in conjunction with its state agency partners at the Department of Human Services (“DHS”), Department of Children and Families (“DCF”), and the Office of the Governor, is issuing this Request for Information (RFI) seeking information and ideas to build the business capacity and sustainability of child care providers (including school age and summer camp) in New Jersey. The input gathered will help strengthen the Garden State’s child care sector by identifying strategies, programs, or other initiatives that could shore up critical resources as the state continues to respond to the pandemic.

All RFI responses must be submitted no later than 11:59 PM EST on January 22, 2021 via e-mail to: childcarerfi@njeda.com.

Please see the RFI for the detailed questions and more information here.

In brief, this RFI is an opportunity for providers, advocacy and support organizations, CCR&Rs, CDFIs, researchers, and foundations/philanthropic initiatives to:

*Share input on the obstacles and potential disparities encountered in:

  • Managing a childcare business (including afterschool & summer camp)
  • Accessing capital
  • Establishing partnerships

*Help state agencies better understand and support the short- and long-term challenges faced in all types of childcare business operations including:

  • Challenges to accessing public resources (e.g., Paycheck Protection Program [PPP], NJEDA Small Business Emergency Assistance Grants, DHS COVID-19 Provider Grants)
  • Challenges to accessing private capital

Finally, please join your NJSACC community for:
