Afterschool Alliance Survey on COVID-19 Response for OST Program Providers
Across the country, COVID-19 has significantly impacted afterschool and summer programs and the children and families who rely on them. The Afterschool Alliance is asking for help telling the story of how these programs are stepping up and what programs need going forward. To help the out-of-school field and the overall public understand the current situation and concerns for the future, the Afterschool Alliance will be conducting surveys of program providers throughout the summer, and possibly into the fall. Each survey should take no more than 10-15 minutes and responses will be anonymous.
Camp Operations Guide Summer 2020
The online and downloadable Camp Operations Guide Summer 2020, from the American Camp Association and YMCA of USA, is now available. The Guide is based on CDC guidance and input from a panel of experts, including pediatricians, infectious disease experts, and camp nurses. It will be updated regularly as CDC guidance changes. Recommendations in this guide would be superseded by state and local guidance.
Contingency Planning Framework for Camps
The American Camp Association has created this contingency planning framework to help summer and camp programs do business planning in these uncertain times, in order to prepare for possible options around programming. The framework provides a guide for how to think about the possibilities of full, limited, or no summer programs. It is designed to be regarded through the lens of program considerations, revenue implications, expense management, and contingency planning.
