Lights On Afterschool Photo Contest 2013
State Network Co-Branding Opportunity

DEADLINE IS TODAY!
Friday, June 28, 2013

Key Dates:

Jun 28: Co-branding deadline
Aug 1 – Sep 30: National and local contest promotion
Oct 1 – Oct 31: Contest opens for photo submissions
Nov 1 – Nov 15: Contest voting period opens
Nov 18 – Nov 29: Winning programs announced

Overview:

In honor of the 14th annual Lights On Afterschool, Bright House Networks is again sponsoring a photo contest on Facebook, whereby event hosts post pictures from their events and the public votes for their favorites. The 3 entries with most votes receive $1000; the entry with most votes in Bright House’s service area receives $2000.

Bright House would like to invite statewide afterschool networks to co-brand the contest and garner additional visibility. Networks will make their own award for the top entry or entries in their states. Awards are decided by the network; you might offer a complimentary conference registration or professional development opportunity, for example, or donated materials and equipment.

Co-Branding Benefits:

  • In exchange for co-branding the photo contest, state networks will receive:
  • Inclusion in contest media releases
  • Rights to all photographs and personal information submitted by contestants (these are covered in legally reviewed contest rules)
  • Promotional support, including:
    • Customized web graphics/banners with your state network logo
    • Sample tweets and facebook posts
    • Sample text for email blasts/newsletters

For more information or to confirm your intent to co-brand the photo contest, please email: kthigpen@afterschoolalliance.org by June 28. Please include the following information:

  • High resolution logo (to be used on contest materials and website)
  • Name/email address of all state contacts to be included on future correspondences about the contest (if not you, please indicate who the primary contact should be)
  • Description of prize to be sponsored by the state network
