The New Jersey Department of Education is pleased to announce the release of the 21st Century Community Learning Centers Program Competitive Grant-Cohort 10-Year 1/5 Notice of Grant Opportunity (NGO), approved and posted to the NJDOE website under “Available Grant Opportunities.” Click here to visit the NJDOE on the web.

This application is due on April 3, 2014

The purpose of the 21st CCLC program is to supplement the education of students in grades 4-12, who attend schools eligible for Title I school wide programs or schools where a minimum of 30% of students are from low-income families.

21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) are defined as centers that offer academic remediation and enrichment activities in tandem with a broad array of other enrichment activities in the areas of arts and culture, youth development, and physical activity to students and their adult family members when school is not in session (afterschool, before school or during the summer).

Eligibility to apply for this 21st CCLC program is open to all New Jersey public or private agencies (i.e., charter schools, educational service commissions, jointure commissions and special-services school districts), non-profit organizations, city or county government agencies, faith-based organizations (including religious private schools), institutions of higher learning and for-profit agencies.

The competitive application will only be accepted through the Department’s Electronic Web-Enabled Grant (EWEG) system. No paper applications will be accepted.

Please not that EWEG is not currently available to start entering your competitive application, you will receive notification when EWEG is up and ready.
