NJSACC is offering 3 hours of training in Essex County.
Each Participant will received a Certificate of Training and the opportunity to learn about the following topics.
MAKING ADD & ADHD work in Afterschool
This workshop will begin with an overview of a typical day in the life of a child with ADHD and three key questions for afterschool programs. We will discuss normal stages of development, characteristics of ADHD, and temperament rating scales. Participants will learn strategies for success including environmental considerations, building social skills and “tricks of the trade”.
CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION
The training includes an overview of assault, a detailed explanation of the classroom workshop, information on identification of abused persons, active listening guidelines for dealing with a child in crisis, community resources and referrals for reporting abuse, and legal rights and responsibilities of staff members who report abuse or neglect.
