Professional Impact NJ (formerly New Jersey Professional Development Center for Early Care and Education) promotes and coordinates systems for the educational development of early childhood and primary education, family child care, and afterschool program professionals. The center advocates for policies and standards that result in high-quality care and education for the children and families of New Jersey.

Brought to you by Professional Impact NJ and the NJ Association for the Education of Young Children (NJAEYC,) the 9th Annual Professional Development Awards is a program that recognizes excellence in professionals working in the early childhood, afterschool and extended day fields. Each year, 3 awards are given! Help us by nominating someone who:

  • Works in an early childhood program, afterschool program or family child care home that follows accreditation standards.
  • Participates in The NJ Registry for Childhood Professionals Serving Children Birth Through Age Thirteen.
  • Is a member of the NJ Association for the Education of Young Children.
  • Invests in personal professional development.
  • Supports the professional development of others through CDA advisement, offering trainings, mentoring others etc.
  • Demonstrates advocacy and leadership for children and families (e.g. follows the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct).
  • Contributes through community involvement (e.g. participation on local, county, state, or national level governing or advisory boards, community coalitions, NJAEYC membership, local NJAEYC affiliate activities, NAFCC, etc).
The award recipients will be determined by the Professional Development committee. Deadline for Nominations is September 1, 2014.
 
The three awards are as follows:

  • The Becker Brothers Professional Development Award for a child care program director/administrator or school age director/administrator who recognizes and promotes professional development within his/her program.
  • The Lakeshore Professional Development Award for a child care program staff member or school age staff member who exemplifies dedication and determination in advancing his/her own professional development.
  • The Kaplan Professional Development Award for a family child care provider who exemplifies dedication and determination in advancing his/her own professional development.
