Save the Date! NJ’s School Preparedness Path – Tues 5/7/13 – RSVP here!

Save the Date: May 7th, 2013

The tragedy in Newton, Connecticut stunned us all. Are we prepared? What if it were the school my afterschool program is housed at?

NJSACC  sent a survey to you on  Afterschool Emergency Preparedness to  find out what and if any plan was in place to protect the children in  your charge. The response were overwhelming. The  information shared was disheartening.

The  response to the survey NJSACC conducted was  very telling- afterschool programs need assistance in  Afterschool Emergency Preparedness. We are very pleased to announce  that we are hosting a presentation from the NJ Department of Education,  NJ’s School Preparedness Path.

Our hope is that if your afterschool program is NOT part of the school plan , that you attend this important presentation.

So please plan on attending we welcome your input and hope to problem solve  some of the obstacles in keeping our kids and staff safe in afterschol and summer programs.

NJ’s School Preparedness Path

This presentation will refocus educators’ paradigm on the importance of school preparedness. In addition, it will highlight mandates required of school districts, including the Drill Law, School Safety & Security Plans, and other activities that will move the education community forward in school preparedness.
