NASA and PBS offer free professional development in STEM Education and Climate Change

NASA, PBS

NASA and PBS have partnered up to offer professional development opportunities to middle school and high school teachers. Launching the “Global Climate Change Modules” on their pbs.org website, they have developed an online STEM Education Resource Center, offering free resources on climate change education. Each module covers various aspects of global warming including the coastal consequences of rising sea levels, the warming arctic and even some STEM career preparation.

This professional development experience was funded by NASA’s Global Climate Change Education initiative and was designed to improve the quality of the nation’s STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education and enhance students’ and teachers’ literacy about global climate and Earth system change from elementary grades to lifelong learners.
