National Conference of State Legislatures, the National Governor’s Association Center for Best Practice and the Council of Chief State School Officers to explore how high quality afterschool programs can be better integrated with schools.  Projects are also underway in California, Connecticut, and Washington state. Here in NJ, NJSACC has developed an intensive 18 month pilot project exploring how afterschool programs can support Common Core implementation.
In addition to focusing on the skills identified by the Common Core, this pilot will also focus on the relationship between the afterschool program and the school principal.
Programs in the pilot will attend trainings, receive specialized technical assistance, and work collaboratively to identify best practices.
