Summer Learning: Quality Practice, Funding & Policy
Wednesday, June 30, 2010
1:30-3 p.m. Eastern/10:30 a.m.-12 p.m. Pacific

This time of year is ideal for a conversation with experts from the field, so that we can all reflect on how far the fast-growing field of summer learning has come, what we know about strong practices, and how funding is distributed. We will discuss new connections between school districts and youth-serving organizations, news from Washington as well as from the foundation world, and evaluation practices that work. In an hour and a half of presentations and discussion, we will move between the worlds of policy, research and practice to showcase quality in summer programming. Speakers include staff from the Association, Reach Out and Read, and PEAR.
