The training will be on Saturday, April 5, 2008 in New Brunswick, NJ.

A. A Positive Approach to Discipline
Theory based, experience tested, effective methods of positive discipline. Strategies you can implement right now in your program, classroom, and home that will decrease misbehavior and create a positive atmosphere for everyone.

B. Crafts, Crafts, Crafts!
In this fun Workshop you will get to learn a variety of crafts and craft ideas and take home your new creations!

C. Behavior Management
We all have difficult situations and behaviors that can be hard to manage. Many issues and problems can be handled by making changes to the afterschool environment. Learn tips and strategies to put the necessary supports in place to make positive changes in your program!
Presenter: Christine Corriston, LIC SW, Trainer, NJSACC

D. Imagine: Afterschool Space that Works

This interactive workshop will explore the components of quality indoor space design for afterschool programs. Participants will be exposed to a variety of resources and techniques. This workshop is based on the book Imagine: Afterschool space that Works written by Mav Pardee and published by NJSACC. Participants will receive a copy of the book.

E. Body and Mind Meditation
This workshop will help caregivers learn how to strengthen their bodies, relax their minds and instruct them on how to meditate in a short period of time to refresh themselves. Stretching and strengthening exercises will be taught which can help relieve pain and increase flexibility. Take some time to take care of yourself!

Announcing Walking School Bus Training April 17

On behalf of Safe Kids Middlesex County and Elise Bremer-Nei, the NJDOT
Safe Routes to School Coordinator, we are pleased to invite you to a
free Walking School Bus Training. The training will be on Thursday,
April 17 from 9 am to 2:30 pm at the Robert N. Wilentz Elementary School
in Perth Amboy, NJ.

Please RSVP by Wednesday, April 9 to Leigh Ann Von Hagen at
